About Greenstone Travel
Greenstone Travel is independently owned and managed by Ben and Donna Smithies. Originally from the UK, and now based in New Zealand, we first visited in 2000 and fell in love with the country. We have travelled extensively here ever since, including a 4000km cycle trip around the South Island in 2002.
Our travels also include Europe, South and North America, and Asia. We understand how overwhelming it can be trying to book in advance online, with only a website description to guide you. We have often arrived somewhere ourselves, only to be disappointed with our choice.
We have learnt therefore that local knowledge and recommendations are the difference between a good and a great holiday. We have and continue to spend considerable time seeking out the very best in New Zealand accommodation and activities in terms of quality, safety, unique features, hospitality and professional standards. We recommend only those we have personally experienced.
It is important for us to make this a holiday for you from the very beginning, including researching and planning an itinerary with you to reflect your style of travel, time available in New Zealand and interests or wishes.
Our goal is for you to experience the very best of New Zealand, and to take home memories of the holiday of a lifetime with the desire to return.
